For years, we are watching current health news on the TV that said milk will be the solution of osteoporosis or if we don’t want to have osteoporosis when we are older, we have to drink high calcium milk every day. Milk equals calcium and it equals stronger bone. Well, if we see the relationship between milk and bone with the concept, then logically, milk will be the solution of osteoporosis. It is time for us to change our mindset because a recent study does not show that way. Milk intake is unable to cure osteoporosis, on the other side; it increases the risk of prostate and ovarian cancer.
A study which held on October 2010 stated that there is no relation between milk and bone or hip fracture. On the other words, milk is not giving any effect to bones. A journal from American Society for Bone and Mineral Research with National Dairy Council stated that from their meta analysis that used 39,563 people and 152,000 this year, it can be concluded that a glass of milk in a day just like what dairy milk manufacturer recommended is unable to give any effect to bone and milk is actually not giving any effect to bone. These shocking reports should be on the current health news.
The surprising thing shows that milk can be quite harmful for health instead. Data from WHO/FAO stated that the more animal protein intake, the higher osteoporosis risk occurs. People who are having low animal protein intake and consume high vegetable protein intake have healthier bone. Epic study on 2007 that supported by World Cancer Research Fund stated that diet and high calcium intake will be the trigger of prostate and dairy milk and high lactose becomes the trigger of ovarian cancer. Children who have dairy product intake will also have a big risk on colorectal cancer when they grown up. Well, from the information, we have to state a critical question whether the milk manufactures does not realize this fact or they ignore it for financial benefit purpose? Spread out words over the current health news, we have to get immediate response from these milk manufacturers.
